Bernice Shreve

Bernice Shreve, 88 of East China, formerly of Homosassa, Florida died Friday, December 15, 2006 in St Johns River District Hospital after an extended illness. She was born October 15, 1918 in Detroit to the late Jan and Stephania (Rynicki) Kaczmarek. She married Theodore Jurkiewicz in 1938. He died in 1974. She then married Reginald Shreve in 1979, and he passed away in 1982. Mrs. Shreve worked for Chrysler Corporation for fifteen years in the janitorial department. She enjoyed sewing, reading, her dogs and mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons Theodore and Margaret Jurkiewicz of Easley, South Carolina, and James and Linda Jurkiewicz of Frasier, daughter Denise and James Cartwright of East China, sisters; Sister Dulcissima of Lamont, Illinois and Helen Rutecki of Wyandotte, eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Gary Jurkiewicz on December 24, 2003. A funeral service will be said Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 8 and Tuesday from 11 to 12 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the donors' choice.
