Marrying her husband of 50 years Michael Callahan on April 20, 1974. Bernice was an adored mother of Tammy (Matt) Force, Tracy (Greg) Garlick and Trisha (Mark) Swartz; Bernice’s greatest role was Grandma! She was a caring grandmother of Bryn, Brooklyn, Colton, Kai, Flyn, Dashyl, Ailey, Carter, Kennedy and Cameron. Also survived by her siblings Betty (Don) Robertson, Beverly (Gordon) Kulman, Bernadine (David) Scheuer and Gary Teltow, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Bernice worked as a secretary at American Energy Services for 38 years, before retiring in September 2022. Bernice loved spending time with family, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, school concerts and celebrations. She was a big supporter of Richmond Varsity Cheer team, and loved to keep track of their successes over the years. Bernice loved small town living and looked forward to the Richmond Good Old Days grand parade every year. When she wasn’t watching black and white movies, she would spend her time reading, gardening, decorating her condo and baking. Bernice was well known for her love of sewing handmade blankets, for family and friends. While she never had the opportunity to see the Detroit Lions bring home a Super Bowl. That didn’t stop her unwavering support, she loved cheering on the Lions! During her retired years, she found great joy in connecting with friends over lunch visits. Bernice had a beautiful way of making connections with people that resulted in lifelong friendships. When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind. Bernice leaves behind an undeniable amount of love for her family, friends and grandchildren.
