BEATRICE M. TESCHLER age 100, a lifelong area resident died Tuesday, May 25 2010 in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital after a brief illness. Bea was born July 9, 1909 in Lenox Township Michigan to the late Otto and Anna (Erdman) Ford. She married Russell Teschler in New Haven, MI. on January 1, 1942. Mr. Teschler died May 14, 1972. Bea graduated from Richmond High School in 1927 and attended Port Huron Community College. She was employed at the Macomb County Treasurer's office and as a Macomb County Circuit Court clerk. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Haven and then transferred to St. Peter Lutheran church in Richmond where she taught Sunday School for forty-one years, touching the lives of over a thousand children. She served on the board of directors of the Mt. Clemens Community Concert and a council member for Macomb County Extension from Michigan State. She was a world traveler who loved to show her pictures and slides to many organizations. She was formerly active with the Boy Scouts. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lynette Teschler of Casco, grandchildren, David and Sarah Teschler of Richmond and Michelle and Thomas Kahila of St. Augustine, Florida, her sister, Maxine Rengert of Richmond and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Edsel Ford. A funeral service will be on Friday, May 28th at 10:00am in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverends Gerhardt Doroh and Randy Lett will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Friday from 9:30 to 10 am in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
