Barbara Ann Sutton

BARBARA ANN SUTTON age74 of Richmond, formerly of Barton City, MI. died Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Port Huron General Hospital after and extended illness. Mrs. Sutton was born April 19, 1938 in Richmond to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Fuerstenau) Hebel. She married Robert Sutton in Richmond on March 9, 1957. Mr. Sutton died April 22, 2008. Barb graduated from Richmond High School in 1956 and worked at the Richmond Hardware Store for several years. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and belonged to the Thrivent group. She and her husband owned and operated the Barton City General Store for several years. She was a member of the Barton City Eagles Auxiliary Post 4141 and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her children; Robert (Debi) of Knoxville, TN., Peggy (Randy) Houston of Columbus Twp., John (Cindy) of Richmond, Jeff (Karen) of Casco, Timothy of St. Clair Shores and Tammy (Mike) McAbee of Murfeesboro, TN., siblings; Arthur (Julie) Hebel of Richmond, Lorraine (Robert) Cockerill of Kalkaska, Gail (Jerry) Routsong of Bronson, Arpa Routsong of Burr Oak, and Renee Starnes of Richmond, seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Zurakowski. A funeral service will be on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00am in St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Reverend Randy Lett will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Friday from 10:30 to 11:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
