Aurora M. Merecki
March 27, 1928 — March 11, 2013
AURORA MARIE MERECKI age 84 of North Street, formerly of Richmond, Michigan passed away peacefully with her family at her side in the early morning hours of Monday, March 11, 2013 after an extended illness. Mrs. Merecki was born the eldest of eight children March 27, 1928 in Detroit to the late, Joseph and Evangelina (Trevino) Lopez. She married Carl M. Merecki in Detroit on September 2, 1950. Aurora graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Detroit in 1946 and attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing. She was the founder and broker of Country Real Estate in Richmond from 1967 to 1990 which is now owned and operated by her son, Carl Jr. She was a member of the Macomb County Board of Realtors. She is survived by her husband, Carl, children; Susan (Lorne) Tait of Port Huron, Laurie (Thomas) Murray of Rochester, Julie (William) Hagen of West Bloomfield, Carl (Deborah) Merecki of Wales, Twp., R. Peter Merecki of Waterford Twp. and Kristin (John) Evangelista of Ann Arbor, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10:30 am in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Reverend Philip Ching, assistant pastor will officiate. Visiting will be in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond on Friday, March 14, 2013 from 3 to 7pm.
