Arthur Zalewski

ARTHUR ZALEWSKI age 87 of Fair Haven, formerly of Hamtramck died Thursday, July 14, 2011 in the Medilodge of Richmond. Mr. Zalewski was born November 28, 1923 in Hamtramck to the late John and Mary (Bystra) Zalewski. He married Marjory Stewart in Scotland on May 6, 1942. Mrs. Zalewski died in November of 1989. Arthur graduated from Hamtramck High School and earned his Engineering Degree from the University of Detroit. He worked as an engineer at Carbloy Mfg. in Warren for twenty-five years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the United States Army and member of the V.F.W. Reed Post in Roseville. He enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and astronomy. He is survived by his children, David Zalewski of East China Twp., Mary Marth-Hotka of Hamtramck and Lydia (Noel) Sanders of Fair Haven, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Frank Zalewski in 2009 and siblings, Philip, William and Walter Zalewski, Lydia Lesniewski and Stella. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
