Amelia Schirmer

AMELIA HAZEL SCHIRMER a lifelong resident of Casco Township died November 29, 2007 in Medilodge of Richmond at the age of 102. Mrs. Schirmer was born April 10, 1905 in Casco to the late Fred and Lizzie (Sass) Maedel in the family home where she has resided her entire life. She married Harry Schirmer in Casco on December 25, 1926. Mr. Schirmer died October 10, 1992. Amelia, along with her husband and son, Warren, worked the family farm. She was a member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Adair and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She is survived by her son, Warren of Casco. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Duetsch in 1983. A funeral service was Friday, November 30, 2007 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Jane Rathman officiated. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery.
